The gaming industry is one of the biggest in the world at this present point in time and is ever growing with recent releases of the Ipad 2, the 3DS and hundreds of new games ever year. This for me makes it very interesting as there is always something new to look at. The one game that has taken my interest over the previous month has been Portal 2. Portal's come a long way since it was bundled alongside Valve Software's Half Life 2 in the Orange Box way back in 2007. It became an instant hit with top websites praising it for ingenuity, humour and creative ability, it was said to be 'like a good teacher - it makes you feel smart'. Not bad for a 3 hour long game.

The object of the game is to create portals that will zap you to otherwise unreachable parts of the crazily imaginative rooms. Although a lot of features are the same as the original in the sequel there are far better graphics, much more gameplay and the voice of oggly eyed comedian Stephen Merchant as your robot. There are also many new puzzle tools are far better level design, in the second instalment in the series, including funnels, springboards, vacuums and gels that can turn surfaces into trampolines or ice rinks... oh and deadly lasers, a staple ingredient in any good game. And on top of all of this they've made it multiplayer both co-operatively and online.

So overall I feel it is vast improvement on the old game and although i have already played it i look forward to owning a copy myself.

Portal 2 comes out on April 22 on Xbox, PS3, PC and Mac (i would advise Xbox or PSC as the controls on the PC and Mac aren't as good)
