Now i'm obsessed with mash-ups and remixes and so i decided to do a blog about all of my favourite ones that i have found.
Firstly this is a mash up of 4 different songs: Boulevard of Broken Dreams - Greenday, Wonderwall - Oasis, Sing For The Moment (which samples Aerosmith's Dream On) - Eminem and Writing To You - Travis. This is a very well constructed mash up that sounds even better than the original songs.
Here it is
Then we have another one of my favourite remixes. This one is special because it take two songs that i don't think anyone would link together and it sounds incredibly good.
So here is Gold-diggers 5th Symphony (sorry about the quality of the video)
Then we have the remixing of normal speech. These can be incredibly good songs of very funny. So here are two of my favourite ones, the first was part of the presidential campaign and the second one has over 72 million hits on Youtube.
Obama is never gonna give you up
THE BED INTRUDER SONG!!!
Then you get the remixes. Here is one of my favourites. This was from the Futureheads when they went on Live Lounge and covered a classic Kate Bush song.
The Hounds Of Love (Accapella)
And then finally we come to Comedy Remixes. This is an incredibly funny remix made by a friend of mine and the 'Gap Yah' guy.
Newport State Of Mind
There was a lot of trouble over this song as well because Jay-Z's record company tried to sue them which meant they had to take the video down. *whisper* but everyone just copied it and re-posted it *whisper*.
Also one funny thing about this is that even though it is a remix itself people have remixed it again.
Firstly there was the video
You Are Not From Newport
And more recently Comic Relief covered it by making a video using the original track but getting almost every famous Welsh person to mouth to the song
(did you know that the 'Go Compare' guy is Welsh!!!)
So that is my guide to Mash Ups and Remixes
