my ICT presentation is on the American t.v. show CHUCK. It is a reasonably new show starring Zachary Levi (pictured below). I have chosen it because it is based around computers and hacking and programming so it has taught me a lot about highly advansed technology.

I have chosen to do my presentation on the american tv series CHUCK. It is a reasonably new show starring Zachary Levi and others. I have chosen it because it has a general ICT theme and is mainly about computers. It is very educational in my view.

The Difference Between the Internet and the World Wide Web

Lots of people think that the internet and the world wide web are the same or just similar things but actually they are completely different things.

The internet is like a networking infrastructure, it is a network made of other networks. What it does is it links millions of computers around the world. From London to Shanghai. From Lisbon to LA. If you are on the network (the internet) you can connect with anyone else on the internet. You can communicate, send emails, send files. Anything sent of the internet is translated into languages called protocols.

But the world wide web is a vastly different thing. The web is a way of getting to and accessing information using the internet. It is a module of info sharing that is built using the internet. The web uses HTTP protocol this can be translated into any language. Then on top of the web there are browsers like google chrome, safari and firefox. These help you access stuff on the internet and look at web pages using hyperlinks. These also help you see graphics and videos.
